Sittellas

Went to a wedding at a vineyard in the Swan Valley early this month. In fact Jenine and I did a couple of songs there. This was the view from the balcony overlooking the pergola where the ceremony took place looking east toward the Darling Range. Early evening, a delightful time of the day in high summer, golden light, long shadows.

I love the bottom half shrouded in shadow, and the shadows themselves pointing to that sublime horizon. A Purple Hearts reunion??? I'd stand in line for tickets, put me on the mailing list!

Cheers Nick. Not exactly a PH reunion but the harmonies are still there.

You have captured the time of day perfectly Dave. The richness of the foreground colour once the strength of the summer sun wanes and the light in the middle distance before the shadows reach, makes for a beautiful balance of both light and colour.

Hellofa landscape there David. I like the circular flow of the design and the color. Makes me want to spend a comfortable day in the sun walking around in this scene. The spark flying from your brush has ignited quite a visual fire of pleasure and brilliance.

Hi David,
The brush work here is outstanding as is the colour! Simply awesome! I love the highlights/paper left around the pergola. I love that luminous foreground shadow, and this really sets the scene for light in the upper field of the painting. Spontaneous watercolour at its best, gestural deft brushwork. Wow, Woa. !!!
You're inspiring me to get my watercolours going again... I've been needing some watercolour inspiration lately and your surely providing it!!
cheers,
Wayne
